Each poem/song is about keeping your hands clean, off your face and out of your mouth. These hands have seen what hard labor is all about. Will surely fade away.
These little hands may whine and cry a lot, but they never criticize me. Including giving you chocolates and a bright flower bouquet. "The images and hands of this poem began building during Mass one Sunday. The possibilitiessuddenly impossiblefeelings not felt, rememberings un-rememberedall the touches untouched: the gallant strain, of a pilfered ant, tiny muscles flexed with fight, the gritty sidewalk slapped after a slip, the pulled weed, the plucked flowera buttercup!
