What is it that Jesus wants us to overcome?

A person who has accepted Jesus as their Savior has merely begun their training in righteousness.

I personally believe that all of the above verses, and specifically some of the key phrases mentioned in these verses, are simply way too much Scriptural evidence all showing that it is possible for a Christian to lose their salvation with the Lord. And if Jesus is acknowledging this fact then these people have to be born-again Christians, because only born-again Christians have the power of the Holy Spirit operating on the inside of them to be able to cast demons out of anyone. However, many other people would be convinced otherwise through reading passages such as Hebrews 10.1939. I believe the words no longer remains a sacrifice for sins is implying a definite loss of salvation if someone has pushed the envelope too far with God the Father. In verse 40 Jesus continues to tell us the will of the Father which is that of all who behold the Son and believe in him will have eternal life and that Jesus will also raise them up on the last day. Therefore, the idea of eternal security was a theological novelty when it was proposed in the 1500s. If people lose their salvation, then Jesus fails to do the will of the Father by both losing some and by not resurrecting them.

Do you see the humongous problem that is laid at the feet of those who would say that they can lose their salvation by saying they have to keep the law and/or remain faithful? 01793 418222.

Again, that would mean Jesus failed to do the will of the Father, which cannot happen.
